Comprehensive Plan

The Draft Walkersville Comprehensive Plan update is available for public review.

We want to hear from you! To comment on the Plan:

Attend and speak to the Burgess & Commissioners at their public hearing on March 27, 2024 at 7 pm in the Town Hall meeting room
Submit comments by email to planner@walkersvillemd.gov, or publichearing@walkersvillemd.gov
Submit written comment to Susan Hauver, Planning & Zoning Administrator, P. O. Box 249, Walkersville, MD 21793 (by mail) or drop off at Town Hall, 21 W. Frederick St.
Copies of the Plan are available for purchase at the Town Hall for $10.

The Comprehensive Plan is a statement of the vision for the Town of Walkersville’s future. It is an official document that provides direction for public decisions regarding land use, development, zoning, infrastructure, transportation, water resources, community facilities and services, capital improvements and municipal growth.

The Comprehensive Plan is adopted by the Town Planning Commission and approved by the Town Burgess and Commissioners. The Planning Commission directs the staff in the preparation of the Plan document and maps.
